Late last year filmmaker Uwe Boll announced his retirement from filmmaking. Over the years Uwe has assembled one of the most unique filmographies of any living filmmaker. The man never stopped, often facing insurmountable odds to get his projects made and finding ingenious ways to fund his work while never compromising his vision. Uwe Boll is a true icon; a cult figure whose absence will undoubtedly be missed.
At CFF we don’t believe that the end of such a career should be allowed to come and go quietly. It’s in this spirit that we at CFF offer up our humble attempt at a retirement party for Uwe:
We’ll start the night's activities at our basecamp of sorts for the evening at the Waterhouse Pavilion where there will be special treats and performances in Uwe’s honor. Then we’ll hit up our brand spanking new arthouse/bar The Palace Picture House, followed by our neighbors The Bitter Alibi, JJ's Bohemia and end it all up at our very own Brian Hennen’s monument to radness The Coin-Op Arcade.
Much like Uwe’s films, we promise this night will be filled with excitement, fun times and more memorable moments than you can shake the proverbial stick at. Also, NO you can’t box Uwe Boll (you will be the 67,000th person to ask us) we’re here to celebrate the man, not to engage in hand to hand combat ya big sillies.
